We ourselves have crossed half of Europe and about whole France on our motorbikes. We fell in love with this pristine piece of France and its friendly people. Motorcyclists who touring here do have a constant “smile” from ear to ear. The Provence and especially the Verdon and Mercantour is the most beautiful region of France for having a motorcycle vacation. The wonderful Mediterranean climate of the Riviera is almost a guarantee for sunny weather. The roads are well maintained and the top layer has a coarse texture so there is an excellent “grip”.

Of course you once must have driven on your bike through the Grand Canyon du Verdon and the Route de Crêtes, but there is much more to discover here. The Gorges du Cians and Gorges Dalhuis with the red rocks are literally breathtaking. Along the way you must just give in to the temptation to stop for the impressed nature to take pictures and videos. And for sure you want to ride the route again and again. Within a radius of 75 km. there are many beautiful climbs with sublime vistas with hidden valleys with romantic villages. Roads and trails that are barely known to the general public. What to think about riding the Col de la Bonette in the Mercantour National Parc, the highest motorable mountain pass in Europe and to finish at the Col d’Allos. Or spotting marmots in the valleys of the Col des Champs.

From your holiday home in Castellane it’s about 85 km. to the Mediterranean coast. Ideal for a relaxing day on the wide beach of Frejus, exploring Nice, a long drink in Saint-Tropez or gambling in the mundane Monaco.
